How to prepare for a job interview?


A Job interview can be a intimidating situation, but this situation is the best way to make a good first impression on your potential employer, and a good oportunity to get an edge over other applicants with the same credentials as you.


Before the interwiev:
  • Research the company profile and background.
  • Think of questions to ask the interwiever.
  • Prepare for the interview, what are your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Think of questions you think you might get.
  • Practice with a friend.


The day of the interwiev
  • Dress for work. Avoid heavy perfumes. Your wardrobe is a sign of your professionalism.
  • Choose a white shirth, dark-colored suit and a tie.
  • Show up in the best possible shape. Make sure you know exacly how to get there. Make sure you had enough sleep.
  • Show courtesy to everyone during the interview. Speak clearly and say “please” and “thank you”.
  • Be humble and honest
  • Keep things short and simple
  • Stick to what you know well, don`t get into a subject you don`t feel competent
  • Don`t critisize your fomer employer
  • Be personable. Try to come of like a genuinely likeable person. Be smart but not cocky. Employers don't always hire the candidates most qualified for the job, but rather the candidates they like the best.

After the interview.
  • Shake hands and exchange pleasantaries.
  • Hold your head high and keep cool.
  • If they dont tell, ask when you could expect to hear from them.
  • Follow up with the interviewer at the appropriate time.
